Moschiach Must be Recognized!!!

I have spent thirty-seven years studying about the Messiah, and I was heartened by the prophecy given by Rabbi Kaduri, who had great insight into the Messiah; when I first heard that the Messiah had appeared to him in a vision in a dream. I was excited when I learned that the Messiah introduced Himself to Rabbi Kaduri, giving him His name!
What is amazing about this story is that the Rabbi wrote the Messiah's name in Hebrew inside a saying regarding the Torah, where the first letter of each word in that saying when put together form YEHOSHUA!!! Yeshua is the shortened version of this same name, and it is in English, JESUS!!!
It was wise of him to wish to have this name not read until a year after his passing, because he was too old and frail to suffer through seeing some of the reaction he received from the Chassidim. That name is forbidden and the One to whom it belongs has not been spoken of in Jewish households, barred from discusison for two thousand years, just as the prophets Isaiah and Daniel said would happen to the Messiah, for both say that He would be cut off from His own people and would suffer for their sins and the sins of all of mankind, fulfilling the promise Ha Shem made to Abraham, "In you, all of the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Yeshua of Nazaret has brought the G-d of Israel to the nations, and through His name and Him all men find redemption in G-d, and the Torah is established in their hearts, and a new life is reborn in them, or rather they are born again into a new and living way, adopted by G-d and made joint heirs of the kingdom of G-d through the shed blood of Yeshua Tsidkeinu - Jesus Our Righteousness.
Before He came, there was seperation between Jews and Gentiles - the Jews worshipped the Living G-d and the Goyim or Gentiles (nations) worshipped in ignorance other gods. But since Yeshua appeared precisely as Daniel the prophet prophesied, during the Second Temple Era, He has drawn people from every nation under heaven to worship His Father; the One true G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Through Him, Non-Jews have come near to G-d, and now read and study, and teach from the Hebrew Bible, and Western Civilization has been radically affected by this. No other Jewish religious figure has had this affect on the world, not even Moses.
The Messiah would do this. What's more, the Messiah has come, and the evidence of this is what I have just cited and the rebirth of the nation of Israel - the modern State of Isael! If the Messiah had not come, there would be no Israel today for Him to some day return to in glory. Messiah would come - Moschiach ben Joseph who would die for the nation and draw the nations to G-d, and then the exile for two thousand years, and afterwards, the reestablshment of the Modern State of Israel with Hebrew once again resurrected as language, and Moschiach will return in the sky in great power.
Before this takes place, we are told that Ariel Sharon will die. He is now in a coma and deteriorating every day. When the prophecy was given, Ariel Sharon was in the peak of good health, and active in Israeli politics.
There is much, much more inside this great book. I highly recommend it.

Insightful, thought provoking, educational

The Rabbi who Found Messiah contains a wealth of information about Judaism, Jewish history, insight to the religious Jewish mindset, the relationship and the strain between modern Judaism and its various sects -- and Christianity, Islam's view of Jesus, and relevant biblical prophesy. I saw the movie and read the book. The movie is good but like most movie-book duos, the book is best.

A great deal of information is masterfully weaved in one narrative both in the book and in the movie.

I doubt this book would be of interest to the casual church attendee as deeper things are evaluated than the average passive-church person is used to being challenged to think about. I am sure those who read fast without thought will wonder what the book states. Such a person would get very little from it. Careful readers who have interest in the things this book deals will with be challenged and encouraged.

I am sure no religious Jew who does not know Christ as Savior would find this book of interest. Rather, such a person might be inclined to take offense on the basis of religious differences rather than content.

I got a lot from the book and the movie. I will need to read the book a couple more times to get the most from the embedded value.

I am especially impressed that the author takes great care to make distinctions between absolutes and shades of gray, fact and supposition. However, supposition is based on compelling evidence. I found the compelling evidence fascinating. For me, the compelling evidence and the clarification/implications of it, alone, was worth more than the price of the book and documentary.

Which Y'shua?

Gallups did an alright job writing the book although he really needs to understand that Hebrew is written from right to left. He wrote Yehoshua's name wrong and also missed the second letter vav in His Name. As far as the experience of R. Kaduri, the red flag I see in this book is that Kaduri reports that Y'shua is already in Israel. No, this is not Scriptural and it should cause concern in the reader. Y'shua is at the Right Hand of the Father and He warned us not to believe in any man who says otherwise. Y'shua will return by splitting the sky, and His Feet will touch the Mt. of Olives. Last I looked, I never read any news reports of this happening. Trust me, this event will be televised! The rest of my opinion has been deleted.

intro to cell culture

I found this book to be very helpful. The information is current and clearly presented. (other texts I purchased had more recent publication dates, but were clearly out-of-date in the techniques and equipment used).
I run a high through-put cell culture lab (about 4000 T175 per week). I purchased the text mainly as a training aid.
50% of my staff 'person hours' come from part time college students who only stayed for one or 2 semesters, thus I am faced with having to train new staff often.
This text gives a good, clear introduction to the basics of cell culture and sterile technique and significantly cut down on the amount of time it took me to train new staff. I made it required reading for all my staff!

Acknowledging that the term Third World is imprecise and even controversial, Fister, a librarian at Gustavus Adolphus College, identifies the countries covered by this compilation as those of "the Caribbean, Central and Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Asia, excluding Japan, Australia, and New Zealand." From these areas, she has selected a wide range of women writers whose works are available in English--either as the original language of publication or in translation. Of the approximately 570 alphabetically arranged entries, 303 are devoted to biographical sketches of these women, while the others treat individual literary works and themes.

Since only 28 of the writers Fister includes were born before 1900, her principal emphasis is on the twentieth century. Although the guide covers such prominent authors as Anita Desai, Buchi Emechta, Nadine Gordimer, and Jean Rhys, it focuses primarily on lesser-known figures. It also encompasses a number of writers (e.g., Isak Dineson, Elspeth Huxley, Paule Marshall) whose nationalities do not qualify them for inclusion but whose lives and writings connect them with a Third World country.

Entries on authors provide biographical and critical information varying from a few sentences to half a page and include selective bibliographies of primary and secondary works in English through 1994. An asterisk beside a title in a bibliography indicates that it has a separate entry. Such entries provide a brief synopsis of the work and sometimes include citations to critical commentary. Although only a small percentage of the articles are thematic in nature (e.g., Autobiography, Censorship, Motherhood), those tend to be more extensive than the others.

Five useful appendixes supplement the dictionary portion of this compilation: the first two are geographic and chronological lists of the authors treated, while the remaining three provide bibliographies of reference materials, anthologies, and works of criticism relating to women and Third World literatures. The excellent index refers not only to the writers, titles, and topics accorded entries, but also to individuals, themes, and events (e.g., apartheid, Cultural Revolution, mental illness) that are discussed within the entries.

Only slightly more than one-third of the writers in this guide are also included in Contemporary Authors. Although almost two-thirds are treated in the Bloomsbury Guide to Women's Literature [RBB F 15 93], those sketches generally provide very limited or no secondary bibliographies. Overlap with the two-volume Encyclopedia of Post-colonial Literatures in English (Routledge, 1994) is not significant due to some major differences in the countries covered.

Perhaps this work's greatest value lies in its identification of numerous women authors whose works are not widely known in the U.S. It will be particularly useful in academic libraries that support strong programs in comparative literature or women's studies.

A Honey Badger

I first discovered Robert Ruark years ago with "The Old Man and the Boy", and "The Old Mans Boy Grows Older", but it ended there. I never thought to look into his other writings. Now I guess twenty years later, I have rediscovered him.

"The Honey Badger" may be the best novel I have ever read. The frightening thing about it is, I see myself reflected in the story. It was hard to put down.

I don't speak Japanese or any other second langauge for that matter but didn't want to appear as the "Ugly American" who only speaks English and makes no attempts at the native tongue when abroad. In fact I will now use all of the lanuage dictionaries when taking a vacation, it can't hurt.

Great!

I know people like to say don't go for Romaji but seriously sometimes it just works. Although I know my hiragana and katakana well enough to read I find it hard to flip through a dictionary with ease if the entry words are written in hiragana/katakana. It takes me awhile to sort out anything beyond the secondary letters out. I find I spend too much time in reciting the alphabet in my head to get to the correct sections. Romaji is just faster, and for now it works so I use it as my primary dictionary method. In that regard this dictionary does a great job for a beginning dictionary. It's succinct and easy to handle. I supplement this with the Kodansha's Furigana dictionary and it works out really well as the Kodansha one gives me detail and dept and lets me practice my alphabet.

Vary nice but small floops

I got the hardcover addition, I love this book vary much! I wanted to see a bit more Japanese. But I'm happy regardless. It's all in Romaji and the Japanese that is in here is not hiragana it's a mix of katakana and kanji witch is nice for advanced students but I'm just learning hiragana. I got the hardcover book and it lookes half used. Their is a few scratches and the sticker took off some of the leather on the book. It's fine though no missing pages or anything. I like this book!

Edit: Definitely used. No one wrote in it or anything, just the pages are oldish, and the hardcover has scratches ect. I dont mind it, because its really minor. Its a great dictionary but I just thought I was buying it new. :)

The best J/E E/J I know of.

For the price, there's nothing better. Most of the Japanese/English dictionaries out there either have not nearly enough entries in them to be useful, or, their Japanese listings are written using Japanese alphabetical order (-KSTNHMYRWN). This can be maddening. Also, most of the dictionaries that are using Japanese alphabetical order also neglect to include definitions written in english letters. In other words, if you look up the word EGG, they will list as its equivalent "卵." They won't tell you how to say it (it's 'tamago' btw) . They also don't even bother to write it out in hiragana. They just show the Japanese character "卵." This dictionary, on the other hand, will show you the Kanji for words and then they also spell out the pronunciation of the words in Roman letters.

I have four of these dictionaries. I bought one, used it up, and then bought three more. I also bought a tube of very strong glue and glued my old one back together. I've been using it now for about 18 years. I can't praise the book highly enough.

Ira and Sandy Asherman are the principals of Asherman Associates. Ira and Sandy are the co-editors of two published books of readings: "The Negotiation Sourcebook," and "The Sales Management Sourcebook." They have also written "Twenty-Five Role Plays To Teach Negotiation," which was published in 1994, and "Fifty Activities To Teach Negotiation," which was published in 1996.

Ira is the president of Asherman Associates and is responsible for the design and delivery of all programs and materials. Ira has been a management consultant for the last 30 years.

Sandy is the vice president and is responsible for the research and writing of all program materials.

The binder comes with a CD and the role plays are situation specific and are split into "internal" and 'external" negotiation scenarios.

In Love with This Series

I've never read anything from this author that wasn't really, really good, and this book is no exception. In the second installment of the Wright Brothers Series (and if you haven't read Getting Schooled, you MUST), Devyn and Joseph go from being coworkers at odds to friends with the best of benefits...I loved watching their relationship grow. The dialogue, as per usual, was creative and fresh, their chemistry was intense and palpable, and the storyline flowed nicely. I thought that Devyn was a really great character. She was multilayered, complicated, and extremely likable (that's a difficult trifecta to pull off). I don't think that Joseph was as developed as she was. That's my one gripe about this book; CCJ always has really well rounded lead characters, but Joseph didn't seem as robust as some of the leads in her other works. In any case, the book was another hit. I hope that the next book in the series is about Eric (Devyn's brother) and Aviva (Joseph's friend)! They were so intriguing--I have to know more about them now; Justin's story can wait!

This novel became my relaxing Sunday read. The second novel in the Wright Brothers series did not disappoint. Although not as fiery as book one, the characterisation remains strong and the plot development continues to be good! I loved the beginning best but this did not take away from the interaction between Joseph and Dervyn. Looking forward to reading Justin's story.

I'm loving CCJ. She gives us a quick snippet of these characters lives. While I think book 1 was stronger, I am loving her writing style. I'm definitely looking out for all of her stuff.

Martha Augoustinos is Professor of Psychology at the University of Adelaide and Co-Director of the Fay Gale Centre for Research on Gender.

Iain Walker is a Senior Research Scientist with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, where he leads the Social & Behavioural Sciences Group. He is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at the University of Western Australia, and 3 other Australian universities.
