About the Author
Gerald Corey is Professor Emeritus of Human Services and Counseling at California State University at Fullerton. He received his doctorate in counseling from the University of Southern California. He is a Diplomate in Counseling Psychology, American Board of Professional Psychology; a licensed psychologist; and a National Certified Counselor. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Division 17, Counseling Psychology; and Division 49, Group Psychotherapy); a Fellow of the American Counseling Association; and a Fellow of the Association for Specialists in Group Work. Both Jerry and Marianne Corey received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Mental Health Counselors Association in 2011, and both also received the Eminent Career Award from ASGW in 2001. Dr. Corey was given the Outstanding Professor of the Year Award from California State University at Fullerton in 1991. He regularly teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in group counseling and ethics in counseling. He is the author or coauthor of 15 textbooks in counseling currently in print, along with more than 60 journal articles and book chapters. In the past 40 years Jerry and Marianne Corey have conducted group counseling training workshops for mental health professionals at many universities in the United States as well as in Canada, Mexico, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Germany, Belgium, Scotland, England, and Ireland.

I've read a couple of Group counseling textbooks and this is my favorite. I was upset with the price but Corey's writing is excellent, his in depth explanation of the different modalities was perfect and I especially appreciated the examples included. This will stay on my reference bookshelf for future use.

Bought this for a course in my MSW program. I enjoyed the class and we really used the book from front to back. This book has a lot of usuful information if you are looking to start running groups or working with clients in your practicum. I plan on keeping this text and not selling it back because of all the information that you can gain from this book. Im glad that I took the course because of this book!.

Cover to cover, an extremely enlightening book

If you plan to build a wooden boat for the first time, this book is just what you need. When I embarked on my first boatbuilding project armed with my hobbyist's furniture building skills and a set of boat plans, I nearly gave up in frusteration. After reading this book, everything makes so much more sense. He explains the terminology, the woods, the tools, the glues, and all the little pitfalls you will encounter along the way. My boat is now well underway and it would probably still be couple sheets of paper nailed to the wall of my garage if it weren't for "Building Small Boats."

I liked this book. It didn't set my world on fire. But it was a quick and easy read. And it seemed to cover how a rainmaker should think and act while trying to bring in the business. It had the following 7 chapters:

1. Make rain while the sun shines
2. Be brand-focused [1-8]
3. Be strategic [9-16]
4. Be tactical [17-27]
5. Be customer-focused [28-36]
6. Be competitive [37-43]
7. Be hardwired [44-52]

Like another book I read and reviewed today, this book felt like it was a compilation of blog entries. 52 to be exact. Some people might like a book written that way. But I like a book a lot better if it is built with 7 to 12 solid chapters that are not split up too much. Accordingly, this book wasn't anything special to me.

The other thing about this book that dropped it from a 5-star rating was it was so common-sensical. Rainmakers are marketers. And marketers if they are any good devise a sound marketing plan and then they follow it. If they do this, then they are brand-focused, strategic, tactical, competitive, and hardwired. And in writing the marketing plan they had to be customer-focused or they would not have been able to create a plan that was worth more than 2 cents.

Don't expect this book to be a rainmaker's guide to marketing tools and techniques - it's not. But if you already know what tools and techniques work in your industry, then this book can probably help you devise a pretty good marketing plan using those tools and techniques. 4 stars!

Educational, yet entertaining. Easy to read, digest, and implement

Marketing For Rainmakers is a great book for both experienced and novice marketers alike.

For one who has been in the marketing business for years, the book helps you approach known techniques from a different perspective. And for those new to marketing, Phil uses a formula in each chapter to make the book easy to understand, digest and most importantly- implement. He first introduces a concept, then illustrates the concept and how it relates to marketing, and finally gives real life examples of how you can implement the concept introduced immediately into your business.

I liked the format of the book, which is divided into 52 short chapters, full of colorful examples of the author's points delivered in a straight forward, yet humorous style. My recommendation would be to read the book through once to get a general overview to being a Rainmaker marketer. But then, keep the book at your desk and focus on implementing a concept in a chapter each week (book is conveniently has 52 chapters or 52 Rules of Engagement).

Phil's book will help you see that there are marketing lessons to be learned all around you that can be applied to your specific industry. The book will help you get in the frame of mind to look at things in ways that your competition traditionally hasn't, and then act with this new-found insight and perspective. Sri Swami Satchidananda fue uno de los primeros maestros de Yoga que llevaron la tradici�n del Yoga cl�sico a occidente. Esta edici�n de los Yoga Sutras, es la �nica o de las �nicas traducciones y ediciones de los Sutras en su totalidad. Yo fui la editora y por eso les brindo una revisi�n de primera mano. Sri Swami Satchidananda fue uno de los m�s importantes Swamis, fundando ntegral Yoga y el Ashram en Yogaville. Sus trabajo es b�sico y relevante para los estudiantes de la Yoga. Fue disc�pulo directo de Sivananda, lo que lo hizo un receptor directo de las m�s fieles ense�anzas. Esta edici�n representa un libro fundamental y necesario para todo estudiante de Yoga.

Muy buen libro, buena traduccion. Tiene un glosario de los terminos en S�nscrito y cada Sutra viene escrito en S�nscrito, despues desglosado el significado de cada palabra, traducido a Espa�ol y posteriormente la explicaci�n de dicho Sutra.
