Very helpful resource

looking forward to other reviews

I really don't want to be the first to review this book because I don't think I am getting the complete picture. I really wanted to like it. I have been to Sicily and thought it would be fun to go back. It was absolutely fascinating with all the old castles, churches, etc. In this book, there is a castle and the story starts with the family that lives in it. Probably pretty accurate for the times. Where I had a problem was the language it was written in. It seemed to be more of those times than a modern day telling of an old story. I got lost and confused. Most of the time I would be more of .."say what?" than taken with the story. I gave up. I did go to the reviews to see if someone else could explain what was happening so I would better understand or at least know that it was going to get modern in a few hundred years. But there were no reviews. Maybe I will give it a try after other read it and explain what is going on.

Conversely, there are those who would depict him or his followers in a negative light. There are also the 'Abbasid historians, who, though anti-Umayyad, must balance a reverence for the Prophet's household (ahl al-bayt) with a denunciation of 'Alid antiestablishmentarianism. All these points of view, and more, are represented in al-Tabari's compilation, illustrating the difficulty the Muslim community as a whole has faced in coming to terms with these disastrous events.

highly entertaining history

in reply to the claim that Tabari is almost as blasphemous as Rushdie, Professor Mohja Kahf drily remarked that its no surprise, since both are writers of fiction! Any historian who writes a couple of hundred years after the event and reports dialogue, witticisms and even facial expressions is obviously writing a lot of fiction, but fiction or not, its high drama, presented in vivid detail. Tabari makes no attempt at social or economic analysis and has little to say about what the "common people" might have been doing and why, but his history is one of the prime sources for all the famous stories of islamic history and reading it is the best way to get an idea of what the times were like. Particular details may or may not be true, but the development of the community was based on exactly these stories and their impact is real even if their content is sometimes not. Tabari also has a flair for the dramatic. reading his account of the assasination of Usman or the martyrdom of Hussain makes one think of the amazing movies that could be made based on this material! well worth a read....

About the Author
A. William (Bill) Benitez I had various occupations starting at age twelve spenting summers and weekends working with my dad, a general contractor, building homes and buildings. I learned a lot from him and used the lessons to contract my first home by age nineteen. I’ve operated one-person businesses for more than 30 years. Twelve years of my life were spent working for local government running federally-assisted housing programs starting as an inspector and moving to Director of Community Improvement with 78 employees when I resigned to do writing and consulting full-time. Writing, Publishing and Consulting My first publishing company was Rehab Notes Library and we published a monthly newsletter (Rehab Notes) with subscribers in all 50 states, Canada and England. I also did consulting and public speaking on housing related topics for agencies and organizations in cities across the country. I wrote and published nine guidebooks on the subject of housing rehabilitation. After 1980 when most federal funding was pulled from housing activities, I took advantage of my construction and business experience and started a handyman and woodworking business. Over Twenty-Five Years of Woodworking For over twenty-five years, first in Tampa, Florida and then in Austin, Texas, I built hundreds of small and large cabinet and furniture projects for individuals, companies and government agencies. During these years I began writing books about my experiences and still write them today with my latest published in January of 2016. Personal One-on-One Publishing My company, Positive Imaging, LLC, does what I call positive publishing of my books and the books of others. I help authors to publish their books with one-on-one, personal assistance. To date I have published twenty print books in addition to the nine on housing, more than a half dozen ebooks, and presently have several books in various stages of completion. Computer Experience My computer experience dates back more than twenty years and began in response to poor technical support for my wife Barbara’s computer. I used home study to acquire A+ and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certifications and became the IT Manager for the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas where I just retired January 2016 after 20 years. I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida and moved to Austin, Texas in 1986, where I now live with my wife, Barbara Frances.

Charlotte Marzen,curvy,sexy and loving her curves. Nothing like embracing her best assets! Jilted by love, she feeling a little melancholy. Missing her besties more then anything she is on her way to Nova Aurora, there is no way she was missing the opportunity for a visit. The idea of a wedding and celebrating has her eagar! What she never expected was the two sexy men with the hungry looks in their eyes. Wow, that has her temperature rising and she heart fluttering in her chest. Jesus they are just devouring her with there stares..senual and carnal! She was no longer on earth and these men were decadent! The men were polar opposites and maybe that was just what she needed..raw carnality...
Brecc and Eros, two halves of a whole. Pale skin and white hair...they were the opidemy of sex personified. Brecc is brooding, rugged and virile and Eros, caring,sensitive and a nuturer everything Brecc wasn't,but they complimented each other. They were in sync, and attuned to her. Steamy, sexy and thrilling, the Paranormal Dating Agency series just keeps getting better and better!!!! Charlotte travels to the planet Aurora to attend her best friend, Bella's wedding to the king, Alyx. While there, she agrees to give Gerri a chance to find her a mate (or two) and to travel around and see the planet. Charlotte becomes a guest of Brecc and Eros, the Alpha and Omega of the Ice Mountains. From the moment they laid eyes on Charlotte, Brecc and Eros knew she was the one for them, they only have to get past the walls she put up after being trapped in a hellish marriage to a man who belittled and insulted her for seven years. Time is limited since they have to complete their triad soon or get assigned a different mate by the elders, at the same time, tension between the Dragos and wolves are on the rise and everything seems to be coming to a head all at once. This series is fantastic and I can't wait for Vitker and Rebecca's story next!!!

Cookie-Cutter Characters

The characters in the Paranormal Dating Service series seem to share the same personality. There is nothing wrong with alluding to a few instances of the women having some issues with their sizes, but it began to get annoying after about the fourth or fifth reference... You're big, Okay we get it, let's move on. The so-called Alpha males in these stories basically ended up being emasculated by these "feisty" women.

I will not likely read any more of this author's books using cookie-cutter characters. Not all black women are prone to bold or turbulent behavior. Some are reserved and controlled while displaying a quiet strength. Characters like this are rarely represented in many stories.
